Custom Candle Labels

Bespoke candle label design and printing that captures your brand's scent, style, and story.

We manufacture custom candle labels to help you stand out in a saturated market

The candle market is competitive, and the label is doing serious work before a customer ever smells your product. It has to communicate quality, carry mandatory safety information, and hold up on a curved glass jar in a warm retail environment.

We work with a wide variety of candle brands, from SMEs and start-ups to established businesses at scale. Whether you’re producing large volumes of jar and tin candles, or you’re just getting started, we can help.

Our clients include Stoneglow Candles and Absolute Aromas, alongside a wider range of premium home fragrance brands.

Candle label materials and finishes

Candle labels have to contend with heat, curved glass surfaces, fragrance oils, and occasionally frosted or coated containers that standard adhesives do not bond to reliably. We spec materials and adhesives for your label’s specific demands.

We offer a wide range of finishes and card stocks for candle labels. Here are some of the most popular:

  • Hot foil stamping (gold, silver, or specialist colours)
  • Soft-touch laminate for a premium tactile feel that handles fingerprinting well
  • Embossing for depth and structure, particularly effective on lighter stock
  • Spot UV over a matte base, one of the most requested finishes in the category right now

Keeping your candle labels compliant

Scented candles sold in the UK are subject to CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) regulations, which require specific hazard information on any product containing fragrance oil. That means signal words, GHS hazard pictograms, allergen declarations, and supplier details, all to minimum size and legibility standards.

Our role is to ensure that all compliance boxes are ticked without impacting the aesthetics of your labels, creating the perfect balance of function and looks.

Our candle label making process

Every project starts with a pre-press review: your artwork will be checked against container dimensions, bleed, safe zones, colour profiles, and compliance panel placement confirmed before anything goes to press. We’ll also help advise on amendments to your designs to ensure you get the more cost-effective, quality labels for your products.

We run flexo for volume runs where colour consistency across large quantities is critical, and digital for shorter runs, variants, and limited editions. Hot foil, embossing, and lamination are applied in-line or post-press depending on the spec. Before any candle label run leaves our facility, we carry out adhesion testing on specialty or frosted glass where relevant, and check foil, laminate, and colour consistency across the full run.

FAQs

What types of candle can you print labels for?

We print labels for jar candles, tin candles, pillar candles, and gift sets, across a range of container materials including glass, ceramic, metal, and frosted or coated finishes. If you have an unusual container or surface, get in touch, and we'll advise on the right material and adhesive.

What information must appear on a UK candle label?

Scented candles in the UK must comply with CLP regulations. That means your label needs to include a product name, supplier name and contact details, a signal word ("Warning" or "Danger"), GHS hazard pictograms, hazard and precautionary statements, and any allergens present above the reportable threshold. Unscented candles with no classified ingredients are generally exempt, but the fragrance is usually what triggers the requirement.

Can you help with compliance label design?

We can make sure the compliance elements of your label are correctly sized, legible, and integrated into the design without dominating it. We are not a regulatory consultancy, so we would recommend working with a qualified safety assessor on your formulations and Safety Data Sheets. Once you have that information, we take it from there.

What finishes work best for luxury candle labels?

Hot foil, embossing, soft-touch laminate, and spot UV are the most requested finishes for premium candle labels. They can be combined: a soft-touch matte base with spot UV detailing and hot foil is a popular combination that works well on both pale and dark stocks.

Do candle labels need a special adhesive?

Often, yes. Curved glass jars, frosted containers, and the heat generated during burn all put standard adhesives under pressure. We specify adhesives based on your container type and surface, and carry out adhesion testing on specialty finishes before signing off a run.

What is the minimum order quantity for candle labels?

We run both flexo and digital presses, so we can accommodate shorter runs on digital and larger volume runs on flexo. Get in touch with your quantities, and we will advise on the best route.

Can I order candle labels for multiple SKUs with different designs?

Yes. We work with brands managing multiple SKUs and seasonal variants regularly. Digital print is well suited to this, allowing different designs in the same run without the cost of separate plate sets.

How long does a candle label order take?

Lead times vary depending on specification, run length, and the finishes involved. We will confirm a turnaround at the point of quoting. If you have a deadline, let us know upfront, and we will tell you whether it is achievable.
